Meet Anne Parker
I am a fully qualified IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) with over 12 years of experience supporting new parents. My expertise in infant feeding ensures that families in York, Leeds and surrounding areas receive tailored breastfeeding support.
I qualified as a midwife with a First Class Honours Degree in 2013, and have worked as an NHS midwife in Leeds for over 10 years, primarily in the community where I have had the privilege of caring for countless families following the birth of their babies including providing breastfeeding support in their own homes.
I currently work for the NHS as a Specialist Infant Feeding Midwife where I assist mothers and babies who have complex feeding issues. I studied a Masters Level qualification in Frenulotomy (Tongue Tie) in 2022 and am very experienced in both tongue function assessment and tongue tie division. In 2023 I completed over 100 hours of lactation specific education via The Centre for Breastfeeding Education and Research which allowed me to qualify as a Lactation Consultant.
I have four children of my own and have faced my own feeding challenges along the way - ranging from a feeding journey which was cut very short (6 weeks) due to lack of support and low milk supply, through to weaning my youngest in her fourth year and most things between!
In my role as an IBCLC my aim is to work with you in a collaborative way to face any challenges you encounter as you and your baby go on your individual feeding journey.
